Hi all,
Sethu at last got the national award for best regional film. Hats off to vairamuthu for getting his fourth national award. The lyrics of the song 'mudal murai killi paarthen... mudal murai kannil vaerthaen' is really astounding. It's also good to know mohanlal bagged to best actor award.Definitely the film vaanaprastham has to be praised which it had lot of reputation in Canne's film fest. I really enjoyed Atul kulkarni role in hey raam. I even told to my friends that the guy would definitely win an award. I am diassapointed of Illayaraaja not getting the best music director award for hey raam. Anyway five awards to tamil is appreciable.

  Rediff.com does not give accurate information.Tamil films won 6 national awards.Malayalam films topped the list with 12 awards.Rediff.com is a north-indian bases website.One of the important aims of the website is to critise Tamil films very badly even if they are really good.Alaipayuthae and Appu are such examples.
