In all Interviews movie directors surely mentioned one word "different" when talking about the same crap theme .Now after BOYS movies some cine personalities started to talk like "we show only what is happening in real life" .Do these guys mean whatever happening in bedroom can be shown as it is..Read this article regarding this

the article was badly written and boring. crap.as u would say!
the very notion of "we must not show everything thats happening around the society on the silver screen " is very very wrong.
and then i cannot agree with the notion that teenagers are getting spoiled by movies.
To quote Adoor, --"A movie is made in its time ,but NOT FOR ITS TIME". movies are not only made for the present ,but also for the future generations. movies are like the age old "kalvettu" ,which records the actions of the present day society.
so,i would prefer a honest filmmaker instead of an artistic filmamker. again its upto us to decide between the two. not all artistic filmmakers are honest(eg. kadhir, mani -to an extent) and not all hoensh filmmakers are artistic(like mahendran,BR).
but again, its with the definitions OF ART. i would say that mahendran's films are more artistic than MANITRATNAMS. but according to the popular view, the definition of art is different.but then popular views are not always the correct views.
sorry for deviating from the point, and regarding BOYS-i think i was initially shocked to see a film like BOYS that too from a pretty decent director like shankar.i thought this is not the ususal shankar film.something is missing
but then i realised that shankar cahnges his style of filmmaling.his films are usually "fantasies"--like an ordinary person becoming journalist, like an old man reforming the corrupt society and so on..
but in "BOYS" ,its a realistic way of filming. but the realism in lost in the formula. it could have been made a better film, without songs, fights and those dating craps. i would like to see a film which deals with the "sexual insecurities" of a teenager without mixing LOVE and other crap. JUS SEX will do. its a big issue among teens. and make teens fail in life or lead a mediocre life ,or lose out in life is due to this.WHO HAS THE GUTS TO TAKE SUCH MOVIES?
NOBODY!!!
so is shankar. what he wanted to tell is abt the "coming-of-age" of teens. in the "coming -of -age " process SEX and attraction towards opposote sex is the big issue.but HE GOT THAT COMPLETELY WRONG! he mixed that with love, failure vs success ,secrets of success, generation gap, misunderstanding between lovers, etc etc.. .All these probelms need to be addressed seperately.but, BOYS jus became a "ellam serthu kattina periya pottalam" and there u go ..the SECRET OF FAILURE.... never dilute from the subject that u wanted to convey and mix them with other issues and make it a big pack, where no problem is properly addressed and it jus gets diluted.
to sum it up, "BOYS" is not-all-that-bad-movie. it had some honesty in it,but got diluted and adultered from unwanted pollutants which were used intentionally to satisfy the masses and so even that little honesty is lost.

Joe,don't u have any other example besides bed room scenes...I'm bored of it..whenever directors say they depict reality, bedroom scenes is the only excuse to condemn them..

//bed room scenes...I'm bored of it//
You are bored.. Thats too bad.. ;)..
Then I'll give another example. Sh*tting is phenomenon everybody does atleast once a day.. Will you apperciate it if its shown .. (Eventhough it has been shown in Boys )
Other example is Bathing..
bathing, Shit*ing, BedRoom Scene, Talking $ex among Friends are some private things..Not to be exposed ..

That's because, Bedroom scenes are the only places when directors remember something called reality! They (or their "reality loving" audience) don't have the faintest idea of reality when picturing duets and silly group dances and MGR style fights(one hero smashing 10 villains!) in movie after movie.
