I've tried figuring this out, but can't place it exactly. The song seems to start like: "Theradi veedhiyil devadai vandha thiruvizhannu therinjikko". What does that mean? That if a girl walks along the thaer-adi (thaer vaRRa) street, dressed beautifully, like an angel (in a silk saree?) then "thiruvizhannu therinjikko"? Or is there a simpler explanation?

Yes, I too understand the same.
The tune of this song remind me the tune of the famous devotional song (may be tund by Kunnakudi Vaithiyanathan or Pithukuzhi Murugadas and hope it was sung by Seerkali)Can anybody tell me what is the devotional song and its details.

In this song in the movie if you noticed...they cut off a bit where it says: "Tharaalama manasiruntha Keralannu therinthu-ko"
I always thought the meaning was...girls from kerala are good hearted. But when I saw the movie and I noticed the bit "manasiruntha" has been cut off...and at that point there were women with big breasts walking around...then only did I really understood the real meaning.
How rude of them. But I think if they didn't cut that bit off no one could have understood it that way. They made it worse.

Sanjeev,
I agree with u.
Music is good, lyrics is tolerable.
If only they had avoided that subtle vulgarism it would have been better.

Shakti, I wouldn't classify it as vulgarism. It's just a playful flirt. It's so beautiful simply because it's subtle. Anyway, it's a pretty popular euphemism in our colleges. FYI, it was used in Vaali too (when Ajith proposes to Jothika in the boat). I agree with Sanjev when he says nobody who needn't would have figured it out had they not cut off the sound.
Anyway, guys, so I guess the opening lines do mean what I thought they did. Thanks, all.
