Pithamahan is a super-duper movie. It's not only shows the disadvantages of joining the brownsugar team, but the same way it's showing the friendship between a person who have not at all seen what is a relationship, who have not seen what is a feeling and to a person who had always tried to cheat money from the public.

Though Soorya's acting is excellent but VIKRAM's acting is drastic!

He had already have acted in SETHU and had proved that he can also act well as that was his first turning point in the Cine field. And now this is the Second turning point and I think he will definitely deservable for getting the BHARAT RATNA AWARD for the Movie - "PITHAMAHAN".

  Wish him to get 'Best Actor Award'.. People don't know the value of Baratratna , PadmaShree and PadmaBhoosan, since it had been given to unworthy people like MGR, Kamal and Rajini. They think that it is another fake title like 'Puratchi Thalivar', "SuperStar', "OlagaNayagan' or Captain.

  Pithamagan was good,Bala's chitthan character is an imaginary one,according to him,his sixth senses are still to take off,agreed.But i can't digest that Chithan has unlimited physical strength that he can handle any number of 'goondas'.The narrative could have been more subtle and poignant,instead Bala prefers a gory and ghastly approach,That tires.Anyway Surya has done a fantastic job as Shakthi,Sangeetha as Gomathi is surprisingly good,i never expected her to perform in such a matured manner,Laila's character is the one which is half-baked and under developed.Vikram's performance is good,but i doubt,will it attract a National Award.

  It would do you a lot of good to watch the movie again or rather, study the characters in the movie before you make your comments.
  
  Laila's role is such and I must say, it was superbly portrayed by bala and excellently executed by her.

  Have you ever seen a Engineering girl opening her pencil box by her mouth and playing with a conman,the love that develops between Laila and Surya is also not convincing,a engineering college student excited abt 'Kadalai urundai',Well?if Bala and you are convinced with such a character,be it.Other than that the movie was ok.

  Thamizhan !!! How can you say the movie was ok? It was horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible !!! But, sorry ... yes, tastes differ and i did not like it AT ALL. Bala's movies are all so negative and always very sad, sorrowful, mournful, doleful, etc. etc. etc. (fill it up with all the negative feelings).
  
  I really don't know how his movies have become super hits !!
  
  Sethu : Heroine dies. Hero becomes mad.
  
  Nanda : Hero dies. He is killed by his own mother who gives him poison.
  
  Pithamagan : Hero dies.
  
  Ennayya idhu Bala? Don't you know how to make a good movie? You think only death will make an impact and nothing else? Get a life, man. Make meaningful movies. Not just death, death and death, though of course, everyone is travelling towards death which is inevitable. It does not mean that one should not laugh !!!!!!! Be positive, Bala.

  I don't have much to tell about 'Sethu' or 'Nandha',
  but about 'Pithamagan',i was able to understand and appreciate Bala's theme,he just highlighted the friendship between Vikram and Surya,but that is not a normal one,but largely it's like a loyalty,immense affection shown by chitan to his greatest caretaker shakthi,like an animal which don't expect anything materialistic from it's caretaker,which don't know the protocol to show its loyalty or affection towards its caretaker,shakthi's friends fail to understand this,so finally chithan leaves to the graveyard again,to get away from the men and women who are always materialistic,so to illustrate this Bala shaped an unusual character,and the death element is justifiable,and about the things i disliked..its there already in my previous postings.

  A really good movie will make you feel happy or sad, make you cry or laugh, and not just make you stare at the screen with total detachment. Pithamagan is one such movie which makes us stare with total detachment. Surya dies in the movie, which should have touched our hearts, but does not. Vikram avenges the death of Surya. We should have felt the same anger which Vikram feels when killing the villain. But again, we are not. We just stare at the screen as if watching an advertisement during commercial break.

  I saw Pithamahan with lot of expectations.Unfortunately the movie was a great disappointment for me.I can't even imagine a character like Chithan,who doesnt know how to smile,laugh or cry....Laila-Engineering student getting associated with the Surya gang also not at all convincing.The movie is overall very depressing and only saving grace is some wonderful acting by Surya,Sangetha and Vikram.
