movies influence(good or bad) the lifestyle of some people

when you watch a movie, you laugh, cry and anger but when the movie is over, the typical behavior is to take it as just an entertainment and leave it there and there. Sometimes, someone just takes it a bit too far. Obsession with the actors/actresses, copying the lifestyle of the characters of a particular movie, etc. The sad thing is, in most cases, only the negative aspects were emulated. What is your opinion?

Hi,
People can say there may be impression by watching films ?
But does it really work out ?
I could point out one thing ? "Kannathil Mutthamittal " has brought lot of things to public. Specially second half. How many people do they know ? Does this message or impression reach people ?
I appreciate those who spend on only good topics.

the movie "kannathil mutthamittal" projects good and positive message. As I said when I stared this topic, people tend to emulate the negative ones and not the positive one...generally speaking..weirrrdddddd..if u ask me..I think this phenomenon should be regarded as one of the mysterious one in the world...tinni ninni tinni ninni tinni ninni(twilight zone theme..hehehehe).

It's not merely education that people that is a factor you would also need to include their age, I think we are not blameless in this,I mean the number of people who input to this forum who have stated that they want to marry or have sex with a particular actor/actress, the number of sad and lonely people who thrive on sites that have nude pictures of actoresses. How would you class them, its not education , is it their age or lack of confidence to approach the opposite sex. Or it is not obsession. Can they not differientate between reality and fictional. This is not a clear cut issue that only a certain minority do this, I say we all do this but in different forms, some extreme max some minimal

Talking on sexual obsession alone is not the question here. These people who are educated and post unwanted things, KNOW what they do, and still do it for the sake of trivial pleasure, KNOWING that they are remained anonymous. If any day u ask them to talk the same else where, in their job front or at home, THEY HAVE SENSE NOT TO DO IT.
THIS IS NOT OBSESSION, BUT
These ppl who fight here over there favourite heros or heroines, would not do it when their life is in question. But we unfortunately find lots of uneducated people, setting themselves ablaze, for the sake of their heros or idols
whom they admire.
If such is the illetracy, then movie, would have greater impact on these people. The extent varies, but literacy would defintely help this situation to a great extent.

Hmm...to ms/mrs Shakthi. As u said ? Shri Rajkapoor was very famous in Russia during his days, yes i agree. But i was talking about tamil film actors not bollywood actors. As u said one day our tamil film will be recognized internationally, but when. If this tamil movies keep on going like this such as love, hero, heroin, villain, comedian and some strict parents and so on...i think maybe tamil film won't be recognized internationally.

Thank you for elaborating my views to the next level. But I feel it is also the responsibility of directors/filmakers, actors, actresses who have moral duty and obligations to their fans/worshippers when it comes to issues around safety and the true meaning of being a fan.

It all comes down to education and how watchful parents are off their children's behaviour. In most indian households, parents are too occupied with their emotional lives that they neglect children. Thus the children who grow up to be young adults choose to idol worship and imitate an image they see on Tv or in the theatres.
It depends on an individual as how they choose to take the message of a movie. Mostly it is negative. There was once a fan who burnt himself just because he could not get a ticket to a Rajni film which was showing for the first day.
Whereas there are also pple who have mended their ways due to films. For instance, a waiter who worships a particular politician would even risk his life for the latter. He was prepared to burn himself but after seeing a fiery dialogue delivered by Arjun in the movie 'Saadhu', he realised how foolish he had been. In fact, he fell on the feet of Arjun when he patroned the restaurant.
Weak people take wrong messages. Wise people change for the better.
