Cinema and Politics both are stinking like Drainage(sakkadai) in TamilNadu.
When movie Actors visited Kumbakonam the local people forget the tragedy but so crazy about seeing movie stars , they started pushing each other in crown
Police chased the public , finally they ran and landed in stinking Drainage , This is idiotic.
We should not give importance to movie stars whereas in Kerala the people simply wont give importance for movie stars.

Can't believe this happened. Those who fell in the drain deserved it!
As for improving the safety of schools and other public places; yes, agree that the community at large should be more involved, even on a micro level (as Kavitha's examples show- neighbourhood watch, etc).
But let's not forget the obligations of the authorities. But let's not forget the obligations of the authorities. Where's all the government's money going? This is a country that can spend heaps of money on exploding X amount of nuclear devices and test launch umpteen missiles, yet fail to provide the basics for for all people.
I can se why politicians visit the site an grieving parents; but I don't get cinema actors' visitations.

Some good points from Kavitha.
But,
/I think even a corrupt Jayalalitha has got more integrity than a hypocritical Karunanidhi/
for me,this is too much.
Nobody can beat Jayalalitha in arrogance.
Anyway,no point in arguing this further, which may divert the topic.

Kavitha,
Your obseravations are thoughtful. As for ukw, he always uses filthy langauge to reply. Some of the words he has used are unprintable. I have never gone down to that level. Just because I criticised Sun TV, he says that I "lick JJ's butt". Chaste words, eh!. If I criticise rajini, I am a kamal fan, if I criticise karumnanithi, I am a jaya supporter - he just makes assumptions like these.

ukw,
U say that U are always sensible. That certificate should come from others, not from yourself. As for me coming in several handles, whay are U getting worked up? Just answer to the comments, that is all.
I am sorry guys for deviating. I made a mistake of replying to ukw's "chaste" comments. I will not do so hereafter. Let him continue his "tirade" against me.
Coming to the topic,to add to the points, private hospitals too could have come forward to treat the children, but they did not. It is heartening to see in today's paper that the kanchi mutt has promised free education upto degree for the brothers/sisters of those killed, in their institutions. (now ukw, do not say I am a hindutva supporter).

It is absolutely disheartening to see "Lord Krishna" and "Saraswathi" burning nearly 100 children to death.
(Well folks....now....please dont blame me for being a dirty hypocritical dravidian)
