read news in sify that 'dhool' is proving to be the biggest hit following padayappa!!what's happening to vikram's career??he's surely no#1 now.after the hard work n talent,wh was kept shut all these years..i wld state it as the most astounding comeback.!
how r the other movies faring??which movies hv done well at the BO?

  Personally, i dont believe sify.com. I noticed they tend to go over board. I remember them commenting when "Run" released that it was tamil's biggest hit. Now suddenly its "Dhool". Dont get me wrong Dhool is a huge hit but i dont think it is the biggest hit in the history of tamil cinema. I have heard that movies acted by MGR and Sivaji have run for 2 years in the cinema. I seriously doubt that "Dhool" will run like that. But then if tamil audience can make a movie like "Dhool" a smash hit and turn a decent "Anbe Sivam" a flop anything is possible!!!!

  From recent releases, Sokka Thangam is very good. K Bhagyaraj has done a wonderful job. Not a single character has been wasted. Every role had been meaningful. Vijayakanth's role too been scaled down but that was just right for the storyline. Every subtle situation has been handled very well by K Bhagyaraj. For instance Prakashraj's sister comes to Vijayakanth's house to clarify the situation as to what exactly happened with elders at PRaj's place. When they choose to leave PRaj leaves in his bike, and the audience could wonder why he is not taking his sister with him. But in 2 seconds we could see her leaving in her scooter. Not a loose string. This is for subtlety, and overall story flow was very consistent. Kudos to K Bhagyaraj. Looking forward to many more of his movies.

  bcs of forumhub i am in madras for a 5 week film holiday. dhool is a BIG hit. i checked out devi cinema complex and its a total sell out. crowds etc... i took photos. u have to say the songs and story is totally wonderful for a masala film. thats why its overtaken anbe sivam. sokkathangam was only 40% full dfespite the huge Vijaykanth fans banners (i counted 8 of them) at the same complex. ask me more Q if u need while i am here.
