  Rahman has lost his touch. Ithink he has moved his tide to the north and into international arena. I think he has forgotten his backyard. Well Kannathil Muthamittal can be considered his average. But i think the only songs that is worth listening is the first at the begining of the movie and Kannathil Muthamittal

  Rehman is nothin but a copier..from the west...all his hit songs copied versions from western softrock, smooth Jazz..
  
  He only knows how to use technology to do his recordings effectively..
  HE IS A TECHNOLOGIST, NOT A MUSIC DIRECTOR...
  He takes 1 whole week to complete a single song...
  adding one track each day...POOR GUY..that's how far he can think...though he basically copies his tracks from the west!!

  he always makes songs to match both the NORTHERN SOUTHERN STYLES..only for his own gain..so the songs could be a hit in both the regions...
  
  BUt he forgets that he is not giving that typical SOUTHERN TOUCH to his songs..which was so prevelant in the Maestro (IR) music..though IR could have easily composed hindi-like tunes !!
  
  Rehman is a TECHNOLOGIST,has an advanced way of rrecording & editing music..that's all!!
  He is not a music director..that composes music!!!
  
  He can edit music, perform permutations & combinations..thru his state of the art music software...which any body trained could in that software could do...NO BIG DEAL!!

  I accept that he ARR is not a music director. He is a great music composer. U mentioned earlier that he copies songs from the west. could u give us an example???????u can't. b'coz there is no such thing. Andrew Lloyd webber is not an ordinary guy. He is a legend in west music. Even he approved that ARR composes great music. And he further said that he never heard such original tunes in his life.
  
  as for the hits
  lagaan was a recent hit from ARR.
  Facts say aamir khan earned more than what he invested from the audio sales.

  I am not a Rehman hater.[?] See,the thread was started during March 20th 2003. Its December 03 now. Where are said socalled hit songs have gone? Rehman is now working a Chinese movie. For the last 2 years he is not paying his attention on tamil songs. excepting for one or two songs. May be Nenjil..dhil dhil. Kaadhil dhill dhill ..Kannathil muthamittal. that too for Director Manirathnam. Rehman disappoints now. Let's hope for the best.
