  The movie is okay, but the songs do not match the period type of films. Anu Malik has given horrible music for a period film. When they could spend so much it would have better that they could have asked for A.R. Rahman to compose the music.

  ashoka is all together a stupid movie which'd come with all the hype. a stupid masala massacre made out of the life of ashoka the great. how could these people get paid to test our patience?? shahrukh khan with his usual gimmicks delivers a sterio typed perfomance
  mr.santhosh sivan...please concentrate on low budget films like halo and terrorist.....a bit more on the parallel cinema.

  Personally, I think it is a wonderful movie. I loved it, the music, direction. Maybe there were some parts not in rythym...oh well...big deal. I think Shahrukh did a great job and so did Kareena, considering she's new. I just have to say that keep up the good work. Shahrukh, it really was a good movie.

  The movie was really good!I enjoyed watching SRK's brilliant performance.Ajith was also good eventhough he just made a guest appearance.Kareena's performance showed an improvement.It's really difficult to produce a movie based on India's history and i think the director has done a good job.The movie has good messages eventhough it focused a little bit on Asoka'a love life.The songs were great....every movie would be really boring if there is no songs...so i think the songs in the movie was just to brighten the movie which is about India's HISTORY.

  I think the movie was great. And for all the people that diss it why watch it? if the songs arnt appealing in the first place. Thats what hindi movies are about love that fills the air then swallows you whole. Its almost like a refuge for the people that have dreams. And for all the non belivers go make your own gora version....L8r folks..by the way cartoons have songs too, why dont you all complain about that as well, maybe then someone will hear your wails !!!!

  When Hollywood puts in songs, it's suddenly considered high art, a la Moulin Rouge. Indian films don't need their "approval" for their excellence to be acknowledged.

  I think this is a wonderful movie, i love the music, clothes, acting and the direction. I think it is good for actors like SRK to try something new like this once in a while. Truthfully, i'm gettin sick of the typical bollywood movies where everything is so predictable. So, different/change is good. In another words, this is a good movie.

  Ok, so at times, the movie does seem a bit raunchy. The overall message is one of the most glorious and beatiful things about the movie "Ashoka". Even though this film somewhat remainds me of the famouse Hollywood extravaganza "Braveheart", it is down to earth and simply a taste of art. I give it a thumbs way up (Compared to the idiotic movies being made today!).
