Kamalhaasan's Tenali is pulling large crowd here
in Singapore,Despite the $10 ticket price.
other movies seems to be heading for flop.the
last time around Padaiyapa in 1999 and avai
shanmughi in 1996 pulled in large following in
singapore.

  Thennali was crowded for continues three days and followed by that it didn't attract very well. Even it is crowded because it is only relesed in two theaters. But for Padayappa, it was shown in 6 theaters.
  
  The best thing is that the padayapa was relesed in Plaza Theater and Golden Sultan theater whereby both theaters are located next to each other and each 1000 seating capacity. It did very well and able to pull crowd for both theaters.
  
  Therefore we should not compare Avai Shanmugi and Thennali with the Mega Hit Movie Padayappa.

  singapore.....that's why it appeared in the
  new paper as the biggest grossing tamil movie

  The Six theaters are as follows which was released on 10 April 1999 in Singapore.
  
  1) Plaza Theater (First tamil film shown)
  2) Golden Sultan
  3) Broadway 1
  4) Braodway 2
  5) Yishun 10
  6) Galexy (Bukit Timah)- now closed
  
  Padayappa ran 1 month in all theaters and 65 days in Plaza theater. In early May 1999, the straits times made report no Padayappa in Life and they commented that only rajini movies can be relesed in 6 six theaters together. Even the Plaza theater proprietor, Mr. Mohamed Ali commented that there had a strong feeling that they will have good profit even thouhg Padayappa was relesed six theaters and it is also relesed in the next door Golden Theaters. That is why the plaza theater waited for rajini movie to be relesed so that everyone know about this theater.

  3 cinemas UNDERSTAND......soon golden sultan
  was not showing at all and they shift it to
  Yishun 10 Understand........THAT'S ALL NO OTHER
  CINEMAS WAS SHOWING AT ALL.even an artistic movie
