Following the footsteps of his brother Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram graduates from choreographer - dancer - to hero. And playing his romantic interest in the film is Simran who recently put all rumours to rest and confessed to a magazine. Yes, that she did love Raju Sundaram. And no, that they weren't planning to get married right away. A couple of years later, maybe.
The Raju Sundaram - Simran starrer is titled 'I Love You Daa...', and bringing them together on cellulloid is Manoj Kumar. The producer - director has to his credit such successful films as 'Guru Parvai' and 'Vanavil'. Manoj Kumar produces the film, but has handed over the megaphone to his assistant C. Rajadurai. It is Rajadurai's first directorial venture and he pens the story and screenplay for the film. With Raju Sundaram and Simran is Manoj Kumar's lucky mascot Prakashraj. There is also Raghuvaran, Manivannan and Senthil in the cast. Two popular cricketers are roped into play crucial roles in the film. And one cricketer will even be singing a song.
The story has the cricketing world as its backdrop. Raju Sundaram plays the role of a cricketer and Prakashraj that of a retired cricketer. Cricket-related news that made headlines in recent times, like match-fixing, cricket's underworld connection, etc. form part of the script, says Manoj Kumar.
The film makers hope to shoot an exciting climax of the story in the cricketing venues of Sharjah or London with the backdrop of an India-Pakistan match, if possible. The film has cinematography by Kartikraja. Music by Bharadwaj, and dialogues by 'Vanavil' N.Raghu. The shooting schedule commences on March 15th at Chennai and then shifts to locations in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The songs are to be picturised in foreign locations. The film is scheduled to be released on end of July or early of August. Simran can stand much further, so with Raju Sundram. Some of you guys especially Raju Sunram fans waiting to see his first appearance in a Tamil movie as a hero, will he stand strong like his bro P. D. ?
