The Aalavanthan music is below average.
The expectation of the movie has come down to half because of Shankar-Ehsan-Loy.
Poor Kamal, he does not know how to select songs.
After all it is not his money. Pity to Kalaipuli Thanu. After Aalavanthan release, this puli will have to eat grass.
Kamal vanthu intha movie Ilayaraja kitteye koduthirukkalam... Raja kaiye vacha athu ronga pnathille..

  Illayaraaja and A.R rahman done best for kamalahaasan movies also deva. Why Kamal do not use them for his recent movies?

  See..I know what you are trying to say...and all that I am saying is that if the film is good,then the soundtrack does not really matter,besides its only a matter of opinion about the songs,if you look at this very page, you can see that about 80% have found that there is nothing that depressing about the songs;fact is , the songs are very unique and one has to understand the lyrics.
  We ,as Kamal fans, can never stop talking about his great pictures such as Nayagan, Salangai Oli, Sakalakala Valavan, Devar Magan, Mahanadhi,Moondram Pirai,Apoorva Sagotharargal, Michael Madhana Kamarajan...etc,etc ,etc...need i go on?
  Even though I absolutely think that Illayraja is the greatest,we also have to let others come into the scene.
  Recently,a live telephone interview was conducted with Kamal,for those of you who caught the show,Kamal had explained in very clear terms as to why the trio of Shankar, Essan & Loy were chosen.
  Anyway,my dear Manohar,your points are not totally wrong,its just that we have different ways of expressing our opinions about this consummate ,talented being.

  I thought the songs were great, like alot of other people said they are different to most of his othermovies. But I think it was a different combination, I am refering to the directors.
  
  ESPECILLY THAT songs sang by Shankar Mahadevan called describing the things they are responsble for. It has fabulous meaning....... atleast most of it did.
  
  The siri siri siri song is also quite different with the speaking parts during the lyrics.

  That song "Un alagugku thai poruppu" is so beautiful. The music for the song "Alavanthaaaaaaaaan" is very nice. Have to say these two songs are just out of this planet.

  i,m one of the KAMAL'S fan...n..i had never missed any of his movies from the first to the last...n.. for the next releasing of "aalavanthan" i definitely not going to miss it.....as we know that the songs from this movie..mmmm...as for me is in the average level.....most of the songs are cool especially the "KADAVUL" song.....it just lovely song to listen about.....so stay relax

  For the music in the film alavandhan i dunt think so its a big dissapointment Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy give a great Music. For the film errr ok quite Cartonish, but as of the Music its quite western and most of the peoples im sure they like it very much.

  I've wrote this in other thread. The songs in the movie is average. But the background score is superb. And it is by Mahesh. I guess time has come for us to realise the importance of Background music, not songs, in a movie. And in Alavandhaan's case, to hell with the songs, the soundtrack (again, soundtrack does not mean songs) is brilliant. Shankar Mahadevan and his friends has no right to take the credit for the film's music.

  My name is Ehsaan and I am from the Shankar , Ehsaan , Loy team who have composed the music for Alavandhan.
  I agree Illyaraja and ARR are the greatest we have tremendous respect for them. Please judge the music of Alavandhan according to the film script and characters. The kind of songs we had tgo compose for the negative character Nandu could not be melodic soothing melodies which the character would sing somewhere in scenic Switzerland it had to be a narrative of his character.
  Thanks for your opinion on our music it is great to hear from your listeners. Ilyaraja fan just a little note for you Shankar is a friend of Ilyaraja and sings a lot for him. Rakesh Kumar , Mahesh is another friend of ours and we do not take credit for the background score maybe you hsould read the end credits of the film.

  Look here kamal is a great actor and he is trying to follow western style like not putting songs in Kuruthi Punal. he did his lastest Alavandan which i find very interesting. If u think the picture is boring, you are wrong. You will have to understand the story and the songs are meaningful with lots of meaning. thanks to illayaraja and other staffs who worked on the project. Alavandan to me is a good movie with lots of meaning. to all kamal fans... Keep prasing What has to be praised.. and dont condemn it!!!!!!!! to add on the cartoon parts of the picture is to cut down on violence.
