Hi guys,
As a longtime fan of Tamil movies.I'm really worried about the future of Tamil movies.I mean, even though Bollywood flicks are flopping right, left and centre, they have found alternate revenue streams(TV Rights,Overseas rights,Merchandising, etc.,) and corporate funding is also coming in.But what will happen to our dear old Kodambakkam???The taste of the public has dumbed down to such a level that movies like Gemini are a hit and Anbe sivam fails commercially.
Also, there is a serious dearth of good talentin all depts.,except maybe the technical area.
I'd really like to have some healthy discussion here and not the ususal Kamal vs rajni stuff.
Thanks & cheers..
Ash

People do not appreciate good movies. There question exists all along the movie industry without answer.
Financial status must be higher for individual then they will simply omit DVD, TV everything and will go to theatre for good movies.
Until miracle ( change of taste ) there is no answer.

I will be glad if Tamil Cinema died instead of existing in its current state. Tamil Cinema reflects the illiteracy, poor taste, lack of intellectual quest, lack of respect for quality and excellence, lack of knowledege in traditional performing arts and all other disgraceful state of the Tamil population. Why blame Tamil Cinema? It is only a reflection of the state of the society.
