  I agree that Iilayaraja is incomparable. But however this has not reached New Delhi who has still not conferred Padma Shri to him wheras AR Rehaman has. This shows that unless you perform in Hindi Films, you will ne ver be, Sivaji was conferred after he nearly wquit the films.

  1)ilayaraja brought the rustic rural india, the melody of india into the arena, just listen to some of the old ones. there is change in taste of music, as the world changes.but the music from the heart of india will not change.so there he reigns in his neverending melodies
  2)rehman brought the colour to music, a change a different era of music thats only by people who dare to be different.his difference to music is his strength.
  3)harris jeyraj has brought freshness in the music,merging with everyone who wants the world as fresh as his music. there another change.
  4)deva the master of a section of music the rustic kill seen to bring alive the rusticicm in everyone.there he is unique.
  5)the recent yuvan and karthik quite a different combination with a mystery in thier music still to grow.
