Even though Jyothika seems to be successful in Tamil in a very short span of time, reportedly moviegoers are not all that pleased with the looks of this heroine. Usually if a girl from Mumbai lands at the southern Tinselville, she should either possess that magical face like Aishwarya Rai or irresistible oomph like Simran. However when it comes to Jyothika she is at major disadvantage in both these departments. As a matter of fact Jyothika's face is opined to be one of the least photogenic faces to grace the Tamil screen. Besides, overall build of Jyothika is also nothing great to rave about to regard her as a true successor for shapely Simran or voluptuous Ramba. In spite of these major limitations this little girl could still bag roles opposite bigwigs like Kamal, Vijay and Ajeetkumar. This definitely puzzles many in the industry, who invariably turn green with envy when they look at the meteoric raise of this lucky sister of Nagma.

She has got the offer purely on her credentials. Credentials mean her own skills like glamour, appearance, Mannerisms, Clarity in expressions, over and above her cine background. Her first reaction when was offered to movies are excited, naturally, that too, in the direction of a legend, Priyadarshan. Her sister Nagma was also joyful. Undoubtedly, Yes! Southern Cinema particularly Priyadarshan made Jyothika, successful. Priyadarshan is her God Father, Guru. She owes to him forever. Ishe also personally enjoy his style of presenting a movie. She also recieves almost 500 fan letters and almost 2,000 e-mails everyday from her fans all over the world.
