THIS IS MY ORDER-
1)a scene in MAHANADHI -- kamals expression-- his helplessness and happiness -- mixed emotions--- in that jail scene, when he hears that his daughter has attained puberty---THIS IS THE BEST ACTING PERFORMANCE EVER IN A SINGLE FRAME IN INDIAN CINEMA --- so much expressions which will overflow like anything--- THE BEST EVER. very natural. we comment that kamals acting is usually good only in crying scenes( ahhhh...) and othescenes which involves a lot a body language. BUT,this scene MAN OH MAN.... I challenge and im ready for a open discussion that this coild be the best acting performance ever in Indian cinema.
2) the HOSPITAL scene in GUNA(opening scene) with GIrish Karnad-- impossible for any actor to do.
3) the famous NAYAGAN crying scene.
4)MUndram pirai "climax scene".
5)Apporva sahodhargal--- a scene at registrars office, when appu comes to know about the truth and appu's facial expressions when his mother(Srividhya) tells that Appu is a handicap.
6) scenes with Naaser in "kurithi punnal" especially the 'breaking point' scene. bravo!
7)the BHeeM BOY scene in MMKR
8)the entire dialogues between kamal and sivaji in--u know which movie
9) A melodramatic scene in hey ram where a strom comes and goes off---making kamals hair blow all over--- and he takes a gun and shoots---brilliance personified. we talk abot style and screen presence-- if u watch this scene u will find out what style, elegance and screen presence is all about.
10)Aalavandaans car chase scene -- where the truck goes up and kamal walks in front of the blown up truck-- u see, again style and elegance..
i might have missed many scenes which could have portrayed kamals acting potential, dialogue delivery, emotions etc... ,but i feel that an actor becomes a great actor when his very screen presence attracts people. Say for eg, Hannibal Lecter, a negative charecter-- but people wanted to see throughout the movie, because of the charisma of Hopkins.
Rajini have great charisma, but he didnt utilise even 10% of that. im sure about that. charisma is a gift. he used his charisma to boost his image and not to boost his acting powers.
similarly,i feel if kamal had maintained thar charisma and dominance he showed in that one scene in "Aalavandaan", and may be a little bit of change in the screenplay, the movie would have become one of the greatest hits ever in modern cinema.
also, i feel kamals performance as Kaamehwaran in MMKR and those funny accents and dialogues with Delhi Ganesh is propably one of the best in TFM(others being Tarumi in Tiruvilaiyadal, and also Nagesh(forgot the charecters name) in THillana Mohanambal
