Hello folks;

Recently the cator "Ashok Kumar" died at the age of 90, he was awarded the "the Dadasaheb Phalke award", the much respected award by the government of India, but till date the late Sivaji Ganeshan was not awarded "the Dadasaheb Phalke award", why???, is it because of the fact, he was a tamilian, it is just like the greatest singer in India, DR.SPB not recieving the "ganga Ratna" award, while lata mangeskar gets it, why???

  You may have your own definition .Must get one oscor ,must appreciated by americans ,must acted in movies nominated for oscors,who cares?
  
  Ben gingsly might got Oscor for he resembles Ghandi ,But he should fit for Godshe also..No actor has proved he can change accordingly any possible character ..But sivaji proved ..many acted in 10 movies only and get 2 Oscors ?Who cares ?May be Oscor is the scale for you decide everything ?   Only for tamilians Sivaji is the greatest actor in this earth and for no one else. How many people in the world know about the chevalier and asia-africa film festival. I think only french people and sivaji fans know about those awards. If you pick randomly any one from any part of the world who has decent knowledge of cinema then in all probability they know about oscar. So if you are saying you are having unparalleled talent and you want to prove that one to world oscar is the main criteria and every one who has little bit intelligence will accept that. You may disagree with that because you want to prove sivaji is the greatest actor but the whole world may not agree. Till it is proved sivaji is the greatest actor tamilnadu has ever produced. Tell me one thing if you are not worried about hollywood opinion then why are showing the article which is written by marlyn brando to everyone here. because you wanted to prove something right. For arguement sake you may say oscar is not important to prove your talent but in reality it is there in everyone's mind because even people from Europe consider the oscar as the highest award for film personalities . Even when lagaan was nominated for oscar the whole indian cinema appreciated it and celebrated it. In all magazines of India there was news about lagaan's oscar nomination because it is such a highly acclaimed award. So do not fool yourself saying that oscar is important. You may like it or not but the fact is the highest award for cinema is oscar .

  How many know about 'Thirukural'..ha ha only tamilians and some few others..Does it mean 'Thirukural' is lesser than anything .May be you need a certificate from a US company to accept 'Thirukural' is greatest ,don't expect me .Who the hell americans to decide everything ?Why do you expect me to accept whatever Americans say?You go and follow them .I don't mind .

  Why you are over excited. They themselves know that sivaji has wasted his talent by over acting and their ego does not allow them to agree. So they will be talking like this for rest of their life. Practical people will solve the existing problem rather than saying who cares about oscar and all these stuff. They will say oscar is nothing but they are eager to know who won the oscar and all those stuff. Milton you are so much crazy about Sivaji and you will not accept the fact he was overacted and overacting is the only factor which stopped him from getting the oscar and national award. If you are not interested in oscar, atleast ask Indian government to give him bharat ratna by indicating that he got cheavlier from french government. But remember one thing satyajit ray got bharat ratna and oscar without demanding for it. In my opinion satyajit ray will remain as the greatest personality of indian cinema unless others prove it. By the way I have to thank truth because he is the only guys who indicated the mistakes what we are doing rather than appreciating something blindly.

  You may not like but everyone wants to know what americans say. Even vajpayee goes and visit bush for solution . Bush is not coming to vajpayee to find out the solution. British prime minister goes to america to support bush not bush is coming to britain to support britain. you may not be caring about america but most of them care about america. Do not compare thirukkural with Sivaji because during thirukkural period there was not even america and many nations were not born by then. so Milton what you think is right for yourself but not for the whole world and i know that you do not want to prove this to everyone so you are right.   I define all make-believe kind of stories as fantasy. Who knows what happened during the Roman empire days? It is all obtained based on myths and such epics. So, that is not real. hence I classify Gladiator as fantasy. Benhur was a story of the Jesus. (that is what appears on the title card) Obiously, there were lot of miracles and all that fantasy stuff.
  
  Even by your own comemnt, you said that the committee needs something against which to compare and give the award. Give me the comparison which they used to give awards to Gladiator, Benhur, Braveheart, etc..
  
  Further, over acting is a very subjective term based on personal understanding. If you have never met a highly egoistic character, then Gauravam shivaji will seem to be over acting for you. But for someone who has seen a very egoistic person, that character will make perfect sense. Don't blame the actor because you have had limited experience in this world.
  
  I don't accept Hollywood and Oscar are the end of cinema. Even they don't think so. I don't understand why you people defend them. NBC volleyball is very popular all over the world. That does not mean it is the olympics. It is just a national league of a particular sport. Similarly Oscars are the awards for Hollywood cinema. Just because world over lots of people watch it or follow it keenly, it does not become the world best award.

  By the way u didn't get my point. Performances of Sivahi is better than Denzil Washington- training day. But this can not be understood by americans.
  
  Do u say Lagan is the best in 2001. Then why was it not selected for many national awards ? Becos jury found better. Even those things can not understand americans.
