  Just because I like Gandhiji or respect him as the greatest human being ever lived on earth, that does not necessarily mean that I folow all his principles. I have my points of differences with Gandhi too. But I don't go about deriding him in a public forum. Those contradictions (as I'm sure you''ll jump immediately to point out that - "see, he doesn't even follow Gandhi!!") are part of my inner soul searching efforts.
  
  Gandhiji's ideas are not about tolerance alone. It is also about being true to one's convictions and standing up to proclaim loudly whatever you believe and opposing anything that one believes is incorrect. And if being tolerant means keeping quite to whatever happens, then no I'm not tolerant.
  
  You know, sometimes I have been angry with my little daughter and I have cursed her. That does not mean I hate her. Sometimes curses and scoldings will do the trick and I have no qualms about using them when necessary. I'm sure Gandhi will approve of my activities. I'll check that out later when I go to heaven and meet him there. I don't need your certificates about whether I'm tolerant or not.

  Rasigan, I sure understand what Tamizharasan said. But that does not mean I must not condemn him for doing it first. Besides, if he did it without understanding the impact that his words could have, then it is all the more necessary for someone to point this out to him, so that he will avoid getting into trouble another time.
  
  And yes, I will scold my child in whatever way I can (mosamaana aalunnu..!!) even in public even if she did not intend anythingwrong, but IF SHE SAID SOMETHING INAPPRPRIATE AS THIS. By avoiding to scold her then and there, I will only be doing her enoprmous dis-service, failing in my fatherly duty.
  
  Again I say that respecting a man does not mean I agree with him compeltely on all his principles. If I did not practise some aspects of a leader's preachings, it is because I do not accept those soke aspects alone. However, that does not take away the respect for that leader.

  I am proud of you. I am also a follower of Gandhi and but I do not have to follow everything.
  I believe in lie, violence,non-vegetarianism and intolerant. But gandhi believed in truth, non-violence, vegetarianism and tolerance.
