Alright guys, we all know some of the classic films that great tamil directors like Mani Ratnam, Bharathiraja, etc., have brought us. For this thread, however, let's look at the worst movies these great directors have made. Here are my choices. Give me your suggestions.
1)Mani Ratnam - worst movie: Thiruda Thiruda - Thought it had great music by ARR and wonderful cinematography P.C. Sriram, the movie had a weak screenplay and combined with Prashanth's horrible performance makes this the worst film of Mani's career.
2)Bharathiraja - worst movie: Taj Mahal - I don't know how this movie went wrong(Mani Ratnam supposedly wrote the screenplay for this junk) but it did. Great actors have made their debut under Bharathiraja (example: Karthik, Revathi, Radhika, etc.,.)but Manoj is one of the worst actors I have ever seen in a Bharatiraja movie. ARR's music is wonderful, though.
3)Balu Mahendra - worst movie: Raman Abdullah - Simply put, a horrible movie. Balu should stick to making realistic films and not comedy. IR's music is pretty good though.
4)K.Balachander - worst movie: UNDOUBTEDLY Parthale Parvasam - What was Bala thinking taking a movie like this? Absolute train-wreck of a film. Each scene Bala took looked as a combination of his earlier films except ten times worse. Madhavan and Simran are just about average while ARR's music, which is usually the saving grace of a bad movie, is as bad as this movie itself.
Well, there it is. There are other great directors I haven't listed but these are the ones that I respect the most.
