Kolkata, June 27: Bollywood superstar Hritik Roshan, actress Karisma Kapoor, Jaya Bachchan and veteran film maker Hrishikesh Mukherjee will be among those to be honoured at the 64th Annual Bengal Film Journalists' Association (BFJA) awards, scheduled here on July 21.
While Hritik, Karisma and Jaya Bachchan would be given the awards for their performances in blockbuster ‘Fiza’, Khalid Mohammad has been named best director for the same movie, also chosen the best film in the Hindi section.
Sharad Kapoor has been named best actor in a supporting role for ‘Josh’.
Hrishikesh Mukherjee would be honoured with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award and Kamal Hasan for ‘Hey Ram’ as the most outstanding work of the year, BFJA president Abaninath Bhattacharjee told a press meet here today.
The three best Bangla films chosen in order of merit were ‘Uttara’, for which Buddhadev Dasgupta also got the best director award, Aparna Sen’s ‘Paromitar Ekdin’ and Ashok Viswanathan’s ‘Kichu Sanglap Kichu Pralap’.
The best Bengali actor award would go to Prasenjit Chatterjee for his performance in ‘Ashray’ while Aparna Sen would get the best actress and best screenplay awards for ‘Paromitar...’.
Rajatava Dutta would be awarded the best actor in a supporting role for 'Paromitar...', for which Sohini Halder has also been named best actress in supporting cast. Indrani Dutta will share the award for the best supporting cast actress with Halder for ‘Daabi’, Bhattacharjee said. (PTI)
