Though the movie proves Maniratnam's die hard obsession 2wards "Antiterrorism" based subjects, it stands distinct from Mani's earlier "beat-around-the-bush" movies like Bombay,Dilse and Iruvar.
2.This time the social comment is more convincing than the above said movies.
Though the Srilankan refugees issue is the underlying aspect , but much importance had been given to the
emotional content and relationships.And this time the Master had really succeeded in beautifully narrating how a Social problem affects individuals.
3.It's really heartening to see this genius,who changed trends and face of Tamil Cinema, makes a great comeback.
4.Starting from excellent poster designs,high quality visuals,greatly picturised song and music,
nice performances from artistes,KMuthamitaal reminds one, with Mani's Nayakan,Anjali period's nostalgia.
5.Whether the movie is going to be a hit or failure, it proves Maniratnam's craftmanship and his excellence in handling relationships-emotional based subjects.It's like giving a violin to Kunnakkudi to play.He plays,he enjoys, he haunts and make a greater than life impact.
6.This movie makes very little resemblences to Anjali or Bombay,Roja or Dilse. I think this is a great success on the creator.Further there is no irritating whispers or repeated dialogues.
And in song picturisations he proves great brilliance.
7.For Maniratnam fans this movie is a real treat.And let us all wish Maniratnam with a lot of Cheers and good health with 'NO-MORE-Heart attacks".. and give us more and more classics.

  Sound and visual effects were also nice in addition to narration and crisp dialogues by srirangam SR.
  especially the battle in subramanyam park gave me a real "saving private ryan" effect ( If u watch in a really good theatre)

  Well Indian i yhink you are the kind of person with the normal masala crap. Well the way the Elangai Tamil was spoken was toleratable compared to the crap that Kamal gave us in thenali. Finally i could her my origin elangai tamil in movies. The movie is superb and finaly indian cinema has moved into an era where the stories do make sense not the normal boy meet girl crap.
