I've seen Pithamagan..
Oh! my god, what a performance from Vikram..I cant able to get a word to describe his acting..
Surya also excels in his role.
Both roles are truly different from all other roles..
i just loved their characterisations..
coming to the story, its a simple story like sethu, but handled well to make the audience feel for the film..
Padathila Thodappathila ellam adivangurar vikram! Kadasi scene-la laila kaalil vizhunthu kannalae villain-a konnutenu solvar parunga..its REALLY GREAT... he should get the best actor award.
like that Surya also comes in a good role , totally opposite role from vikram..both have done their part well..
in addition to that both laila and sangeetha have done well..
illayaraja BGM kilappitaru..
On the whole, all tamil audiences should appreciate this type of film.

There may be a objection if I say its an excellent story. But no one can deny that Vikram and Surya's excellent performance. Full marks to both of them..We have two great actors in Tamil Cinefield without projecting the "hoopla' crap images. Well done to Bala for creating the charcters which have lots of scope for good acting! The body language and facial expressions of Vikram are so good that evenif he doesn't speak anything in the whole film, we couldn't feel it.. rather we can understand what his character thinks at that time..He has the advantage in his character like whatever he does is the properity of that character.. because no one would have seen such a charcter but its not for the case for Surya.. Everyone (at least in India)would have witnessed this kinda character and Surya excelled in that character. Two girls are good even though Laila charctersation is shaky!!
Ilayaraja's music..Great..In one song.. the situation is like that of Sethu..The tune of the song is also like "Enge Sellum'... Wonder is we have the exact same feeling when we saw the situation in Sethu..
There are some logical flaws.. But totally a satisfying film among the image building films.
I like the name 'Pitha Magan' itself..Even though Bala has given ordinary titles like Sethu, Nandha,, he comes with the beatiful title now.

I have just seen Thirumalai for now, it is a very average movie ... it will be just able to recover its costs of production i think.
i have no idea about anjeneya opr ottran.
And Pithamagan seems to be the winner as all of my friends who have seen the movie appreciated it !

Box office report from sify.com :
All four films released for Diwali have taken a decent opening. The hype and hoopla have helped the films in a big way, especially Pitamagan. Except for Pitamagan, none of the others are going to be superhits in the long run.
It is early to comment, but Pitamagan seems to be the winner among the four. The audience in smaller stations are applauding when Vikram appears on screen making those grunts and groans! The chirpy conman Surya is bringing the house down with his funny antics and one-liners. According to trade analyst and film mediator Ramalingam: "Pitamagan is way ahead of others. People are coming to the theatres to see the performance of the lead actors."
Fans of Vijay say that his Tirumalai is much better than his earlier Puthiya Geethai and Bhagavathy. The songs tuned by Vidyasagar are good and the audience are seen dancing to its tunes. The film is Vijay’s first average hit which will break even and the distributors are not complaining as Kavitaalaya had sold the film at a reasonable rate.
The first half of Anjeneya is fast paced and racy and is being appreciated but the second half is disappointing as there is no story to tell. However the opening was good as usual for a Ajit film but by the fourth day the film has started sliding. The makers are planning to trim the film by half an hour and make it crisper. The publicity for the film is very low.
Ottran is a safe bet and is expected to do well in B and C centres. The action scenes are good and Arjun is being appreciated.

Thanks for ths links nane than, here is the last sentence :
"Kollywood sure will not regret that the rules have been broken. For Vikram and Suriya's movies this year alone have accounted for over 60 per cent of the Tamil film industry's revenues. Fifty crores in four films! "
