I here by want to point out certain dialogues repeatedly used or meant
in the film PADAIYAPPA
I am a fan of rajnikant, and love watching his movies and admire his
grace, talent, style, his interest in spirituality, his humanitarian nature, etc.
But Unfortunately, In the movie padaiyappa, the dialogues which emphasised
on boundaries for women, were repeatedly uttered.
"Oru pombalaikku ivlo timiru, ahankaram koodadu"
Ego, pride, pomp etc are agreeable virtues, only in certain limits.
There fore these qualities should be in control and exhibited to right
extent by BOTH MEN AND WOMEN.
hence timiru, ahankaram etc is not good for both men and women. (and not
necessarily only for fairer sex)
Rajni sir, should remember the messege conveyed or spoken in his movie,
since he has lots of admirers and fans reaches a larger volume of audience.
(I request to post only comments which are clean in nature.

I am sure during the time the film was being produced and run it was election time in Tamil Nadu and I am sure there is hidden messages with regards to the chosen scripting writing and the character Ramya Krishna was portraying. My bet is on a certain old actress turned ex CM.
I quite agree with you the statement that stubborness/rudeness can be in found both in women and men, but it is always highlighted in the Tamil film industry that women should always under the thumb, the down trodden. if they beg to differ they are portrayed as loose women or women who need a good slap from a man. Especially in Rajni films a woman should be humble, serving her husband , with limited script lines, two songs and always praising her husband. I think Ramya was stupid to shoot herself I would have shot him first then the script writer.

pathima,
"a woman should be humble, serving her husband , with limited script lines, two songs and always praising her husband"
Very well said.
Woman with beauty and brains finds it tough in every field. If she is too smart she is labelled!
21st century? LOL!

I can't believe this.
I believe in equal rights and all that but this is taking it too far. I really feel angry when they take it too far.
There are women out there who started an equal rights debate why the green man and the red man which flash at the pedestrian crossing signal, is a man and not a woman.
That's how rediculus this sounds.

Sanjeev,
Its sure ridiculous to argue why not a woman in Signal flash.
I do accept what we need here is equal rights, and not taking silly matters, in the name of rights.
Over here what we talk about is the plight of general women in 70 percent rural areas.
And it cannot be denied that women do find it difficult to make it up in the ladder, in any field. (especially the middle class people)
The point here is to specify that media reaches large amount of audience. The impact of these medias cannot be ruled out as NEGLIGENT especially among rural people.

IT cannot be compared with signal flash!!!
Signals dont convey any messeges of social or moral importance to the society . It conveys only road rules!!!!

I do not see anything wrong with Padaiyappa's dialogues because it is a not the president of USA or India who is coming out and saying it at a big occasion. It is only a movie dialogue.
Rajanikanth plays a character in that movie who believes in what he was saying. He wasn't saying it out in real life...he was saying it in a movie.
Just because he has a lot of fans you can not state that he can't say things in movies....if that's the case then we wouldn't have a movie to watch because everyone will have something they will be offened with in movies therefore we may as well not make movies.
That's why I think it is silly.
If rajanikanth says it in real life situation then, yes then you may as well start a war. Ofcourse I won't be involved but I'll be a supporter of you.

True!. One has to make movies, with stories, theme and interest, not moral science classes eh?
I Agree. But sanjeev, not many are as intelligent as you, to watch a movie and forget about it later. I am talking about illetrates, who beleive in hero or heroine worship. Hence atleast people who have charisma enough to draw lots of followeres should be careful on what they project.
"If rajanikanth says it in real life situation then, yes then you may as well start a war. "
Whatever be the situation, one cant start a war. Its futile, nothing would be achieved by war rather than by mere face to face discussions and sorting out of matters.
I DID NOT START A WAR... AND I HAVE ALREADY A SUPPORTER UNDER PROBABILITY CLAUSE? WELL ..WELL?
(No harm meant, just kiddin)
