This is my first submission. Hope you guys like it.
--------------------------------------------------
I was at the Bus terminus waiting for the bus that would take me to my destination.By now I had seen three people on the road , Might be b'coz their
bodies had lost the equilibrium ...the fourth one went down screaming ...i'm steady. He too was drunk to the brim.
Before the bus arrives let me quickly introduce you the place. Most of them living here would not agree if I say Villivakkam was notorious for free flowing liquor in the past .If you had a stroll around the market place you will always find a dozen people talking to the dogs and the dust. There were always tales about these men who lived in their own world and the world around never noticed them.
Bus number 20 was bound to parry's corner from villivakkam.Sitting pretty on an aisle seat , I was now beaming at the person seated next to me.As it was the case, the grace of my fellow passengers and their animated conversations would be the best thing that would happen for the next hour. When you travel by a bus suitable to be kept in a museum. Coughing up enough amount of smoke our bus chugged forward ( It is a bus not a train :) ).
Except two passengers every one else were comfortably seated.Off the two persons the one standing in front caught my attention. That person had sharp features, clad in a jeans and T-shirt,
hair running to the torso, a face that was blemish less, that person was stunning, smart and was completely a misfit for this old bus.
When our bus stopped for commuters at kallu kadai stopping (toddy shop stop ).I noticed yet an another man who had boozed heavily boarding our bus.
The moment he stepped in our bus became lively. He was singing loud and lewd, shaking his legs occasionally. The bus stopped again and few more people boarded the bus.I found him making his way forward and my eyes were trying to catch with him. When the transition was over he was again his loud self entertaining the crowd.
Suddenly he stopped crooning and I thought he had become disciplined..sorry that would never happen ...I found him still standing there with out making a noise. He was standing behind the smart person in jean and he was off for something big.
My eyes were glued to him as I knew he would be off to his old self soon.I found him moving his hands on the bar above slowly towards the other persons hand. When his hands reached them ,he would hurriedly bring them back with the glares of the other person. He would then act, as if nothing has happened.By now our hero had gained some courage and when the bus braked occasionally he would move forward with greater inertia to be expiated on the person before. He would be back on his feet soon with the glares exchanged by the person in jean.
This went on for a while and as the braking spree had ended . Our hero started making advances
without the brakes. In a jiffy he made contact with the other persons body before he could relish the moment down came the other persons hand heavily on his cheek.
Our hero cried in disbelief " Naan figure innu neenaichaen maa!"( I thought you were a female). He did not try to cover up what he was doing. But joined the other person in probing his gender.
The other guy was embarrassed to the core on our hero's reply. The bus shrieked and came to a halt the driver too wanted to catch the action. All eyes were on the two guys, the guy in jean hurriedly left the bus thoroughly embarrassed.
For a second I could not figure out what was happening ? The next moment I was on a laughing spree.Every one around should have thought I was mad as I was still laughing when they had stopped.
Our hero had done it again making the ride a memorable tale that could bring instant smile.
When I had to get down , I found our hero happily singing at the other end on his own loud self.
You don't find drunkards anymore on the road to villivakkam. But you will find lot of high profile wines shops on the road.
