"Neha!"
Neha turned around in the crowded, bustling corridor
Naveen made his way towards her.
"Neha wait!"
Neha knew that look on his face.
"Naveen I have to go to my lecture. You know what that lecturer's like."
A year had passed. Both Naveen and Neha had passed their exams and got into the same university.
" Who gives a sh*t about the lecturer and his stupid lecture. I need to talk to you."
"Here?"
"No, outside, in the grounds. Meet me in 2 mins."
Saying that, he was off. Sighing she ran after him.
"Well, what's the problem?" she gasped as they reached the sun lit porch.
"Tired already?"
"Why do you think I'm gasping for air you thicko."
"No, I mean tired already of Sanjay?"
Silence.
"Well?"
"Naveen, I can explain........"
"Explain what Neha?!" he cried out exasperated,"Neha all you've ever done is explain. Do you know what people are saying about you? No, don't even answer that question. All you've ever done is go out with guys, use them and dump them."
"Finished already?" she asked cooly.
"I don't believe you!" And with that he started to walk off.
"Naveen, wait."
He turned around.
"Now it's my turn. First there was Priya, than that girl, what's her name, Banu and it goes on.
So what's your point? You're being hypocritical!"
He stood motionless.
"You never cared for a single one of them. In fact you never cared for anyone in your life. So why can't I?"
He stood shocked.
She started breaking into tears,
"Every single relationship of mine has failed because of you!"
"What are you saying?!"
"Oh, you wouldn't understand! You wouln't care if I jumped off a cliff!" saying that she hurried past him.
"Is that what you really think of me?" he called after her," I would care if you jumped off a cliff."
But she hadn't heard him, she'd gone.
He felt a stirring within him. He felt tears coming. He crouched on the floor.
"I do care for you Neha," he whisphered," I love you."
