i am south african indian,and i would like to know how most of tamil prayers started, like the offering of mealie progide, or the scarifice of goats and roosters? Also, i would like to know the orgin of certain gods, like marieammen and maduraiveeran? Any help would be highly app.

  Hi I have been trying to find answers to the same questions for years. At last somebody can answer some of the questions. Mala Lutchman has written two books on the orgin of prayers in Soouth Africa, I am sure you will find most of your answers in their.

  Wht i know is Madhurai veeran is actually a King , who saved people , so they started praying him as a GOD. Even i 'm interested , let us c if some one is helping us.
