I hav a hamilton beach blender which I use for grinding Idli-dosa flour, milkshakes and some chutneys where I add more water. It doen't work good for chutneys of small quantity and also for chutneys where u don't use any water(like ginger chutney). For these purposes do anyone know any good blender or food processor or any appliance in U.S.
Also for making powders(like almond powder, garam masala powder, rasam powder etc)which one is good.

I grind for idli and dosa every week and I make batter for urad vada also with it . I had been using it for almost 2 years , also I grind about 8 cups at a time It just works like charm. I use it to make ginger , garlic paster, coconut paste etc. For powders I use the coffee grinder. It is available in macys for $65
For all in all work probably u can buy cuisinart food processor I have not used it but heard it is good
