Hi Ishara,
This is how I make pulingari.
You can use vegetables like White & yellow pumpkin (kubalanga & mathanga)(or both ), ladies finger, sweet potato etc
Measurements are approximate
Vegetables of ur choice - 1 cup
Thuvaram parippu (toor daal) - 2 handfull
shallots - 1
Tomato - 1(optional)
Tamarind soaked in water - 1/2 cup
turmeric powder - 1/2 ts
chilli powder- 1 tbs
cocount oil, mustard, dry chillies, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds
Pressure cook toordal, shallot, turmeric , salt etc - 1 whistle
(if u are using white pumpkin u can add that too for pressure cooking)
After that add chilli powder, tomato, add tamarind paste, bring into boil well , salt according to taste.
At last for seasoning take a pan pour cocount oil, add mustard seeds, dry chiilies, fenugreek sedds, curryleaves.
Puilingary is ready !!! Enjoy !!!
