Which is better? Is it worth it to buy a separate idly cooker?

  u don't need to buy a idly cooker. infact any container with a perfect lid can do..in my experience(for the past 10 years! ) if u want the traditional soft idly just keep 2 layers of idly thattu in the container.. in india u can get a simple container for 200 rupees.. put one white cloth over the idly thattu and pour the idly maavu.. if u don't have a cloth.. don't worry u can spray the oil on the thattu and pour maavu..
