I had some onion chutney at my South Indian friend's house and after geting the recipe from her I tried it myself. It didn't turn out like hers. It was a bit bittere, it kind of had the 'teekha' onion taste. Can someone please give me a new recipe which turns out right??

Saute equal amounts of chopped onions (preferably the small saambaar onions) and dried-red chillies in a kadaai for sometime. Then grind them in a mixie adding just enough water to make it thick and enough salt. Add in 3 to 4 teaspoons of oil (preferably coconut oil). This chutney also called "chammanthi" is good for dosai, idly etc.
