I ate a dosa at a friend's house long back. It was red (think they added tomatoe puree to the dough) and spicy. Does anyone know how to make it?

Hello Kav,
I'm pasting the recipe given by Mrs.Mano in Tamilnadu Delicacies long back. Hope this is the one you are looking for!
TOMATO DOSAI:
This I have learnt from Mrs. Mallika Badrinath’s cookery.
Soak 11/4 cup raw rice with 2tbsps thur dal for 1 hour. Grind it smoothly with 1 ¾ cup chopped tomatoes, 5 dry red chillies, and a gooseberry size tamarind. The batter should not be very thick. You can make tasty tomato dosas immediately.
Good Luck!

Mallika Badrinath's tiifin varieties book has more recipes for different kinds of dosas, some of them made with vegetables.

Hi
You can also make cauliflower dosas, cheese dosas etc.. by spreading the needed vegetables(veg has to be fried) on one side of the dosas.
