Which one are you refering to -semiya, ada pradhaman, parapa pradhaman , chakka pradhaman

With ready made coconut-milk available in all shops, now it has become very easy to make Kerala Payasams.
For Paruppu Pradhaman.
Take Three-fourth cup of kadalai paruppu (chana dhal) and one-forth cup of rice. Clean and pressure cook together until kadalai paruppu becomes soft.
Take one cup of jaggery (brown coloured sugar - vellam/sarkkara) powdered. Add water and bring jaggery to boil and filter out stones or dirt if any. Keep aside.
Make 3 cups of thick coconut milk by mixing the powder.
In a thick bottomed vessel mix the cooked rice-dhal and jaggery-mix and add enough water and boil. Add one cup of coconut milk and boil for sometime. Take out of stove and add the remaining cups of coconut milk.
Add in some powdered cardomom (elaichi).
This is no-hassles Paruppu pradhaman.

To prepare ADA Pradhaman:
Ready Ada, which u you will find in most indian super markets. Take 200gms of this Ada.
Jaggery-700gms.Cardomom-50gms. ghee-150gms, coconut-3 (full), raisins-10, Cashewnuts-10,
Method of preparing: Melt jaggery and keep aside.Boil water and keep the ada in it till it is cooked soft. Strain after 10 min and keeo aside. Mix the melted jaggery with the cooked ada and stir for 10 min in low fire. take 2 extracts of the coconut milk and add the second extract to the above mixture. Bil this until it becomes thick. take it off the fire and add the first extract of milk. Fry the cashew and raisins and ghee and garnish. Enjoy!
