what is standing time in microwave ovens?

Can Someone Please tell me what is the meaning of standing time as used in microwave ovens?

I guess it is the time we need to keep the food before serving after microwaving. ie, If you microwave the food for 5 min. and the standing time is 2 min., you have to wait 2 more min. to serve after microwaving . Its a guess only. :)

standing time refers to the time you leave the dish in the microwave oven (after its cooked and you've switched off the oven) before taking it out...
