I would like to know how to make Maharashtrian Chivda.

Here is a tried and true recipe of Chivada:
Thin aval about 6 cups clean and dry roast until it is crisp, don't let it burn. Let cool. Make Vagar with Oil, Mustard, Hing, curry leaves, Green chilles/slit, turmeric, Peanuts, Pottukadalai and then add Aval, salt, sugar, Jeera powder, chilli poder and mix it well. Yumm. You can also add store bought mixtture/sev etc. or add Pori along with aval.

to the above recipe you can add chutta appalam broken down to small pieces
it tastes real good you can also make chivda with
the unsweet cereals you get in the grocery store
