Hi everybody,
Can everyone give me the recipe for 'Honey Cake'. I remember the one which we get in the bakery... where the cake has been frosted with Jam and rolled over the finely grated coconut.
Thanks.

Hi Kavi,
I got a recipe for 'Honey Cake' and i tried it. It came out well but it is not as the one, which we get in the bakery. But it tastes good.
HoneyCake :
-----------
Ingredients :
-------------
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup honey
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
Method :
--------
Mix ingredients together, beating until mixture is smooth and fluffy. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour. Lower temperature to 275 degrees Fahrenheit and monitor at 15 minute intervals.
Note :
------
It is given in the recipe that we have to bake it at 300 degrees F for 1 hr. But it got baked well within 45 min itself. So you can test the cake now and then so that it doesn't get charred.
Enjoy!

Hi Kavi,
yep... as u told it has the jam frosting and coconut. But with the recipe which i have given above, we don't get a juicy(somewhat... not so dry) cake. So it is impossible to have the coconut coating. If u like, u can try the jam kind of frosting alone.
What i guess is, instead of sugar, if we add the same quantity of honey, we might get a juicy cake. But i haven't tried that yet.
Try the first said recipe and enjoy the cake!
