I am looking for the spices needed to make Indian tea. Does someone have a recipe or know which spices I should add to black tea?

Hai Sheila,
you could add a lot of herbs and spices to tea depending upon your taste. You could add mint to tea to make mint tea, you could add lemon wedges , or you could add grated ginger to make ginger tea, or you could add some cream to black tea for a change.....or you could add 'chai masala' to make masala chai........the list is endless.......You could add whatever pleases you. Happy tea drinking!!

Sheila,
Here's my top 3 spices. I add these to black loose tea while brewing it.
1. Cardamom - skin and seeds.
2. Cloves.
3. Ginger (fresh if possible)
If you like, you can also add:
4. Black pepper (zing!)
5. Mace/Nutmeg
6. Cinnamon (not to my taste).
The tea has to be brewed really strong, IMO, to assert itself over these spices. I also like it extra sweet.
You can buy packaged "chai masala", which I find is quite good in many cases.
