  Whenever you have a dish anywhere, always make it a point to ask the chef or the management , how it is prepared.If you know atleaset the ingredients, half the battle is won.Rest comes with trial and error.

  The saravana bhavan branch that opened here(mountain view, CA)on apr. 14- is NOT at all like the chennai ones, i would not recommend!The tast is totally different.

  Did you try the karaikdi chettinadu and madras cafe.I tried karaikudi.we went for lunch buffet.So not to taste may chettinadu items.but it is spicy.i havent tried madras cafe

  Tastelover, yup the chettinadu is spicy for my friends but i prefer if it is little more hot, and m'das cafe is good too. The chutney is best at udapi so far.

  Who says that Chennai saravana bhavan is not good? Try coffee, badham kheer, kuzhai puttu with kothu kadalai etc. Those are all one of the best. It all depends on the branch where we are going. Because, in fast foods saravana bhavan, cant expect the quality.
