Hi Jennie,
Here is the receipe for easy preparation of dhal which can be done when time is less.
Dhal 1 cup
water 3 cups
1 tomato [if small 2]
place all this in cooker and wait for 4 vistles, then remove and smash the dhal and tomato with a wooden stick, it is easy to smash. if u think it is nessessary use mixe and blend but not too soft paste.
now put a pan on the stove, pour little oil fry jeera{jeerakam}, small chopped onion, garlic chopped to small pieces, 2 small green chillies, krivepilai, when these turn light golden brown pour in the dhal mix and add chopped coriander leaves.
thats it. have with rice if the dhall is thick. when loose have it as sidedish for chappathis.
