i tried to make uppma with pasta once! it turned out not bad (to me)! just boil and then drain 3 cups of any pasta (al dente) as per instructions on the package. you may mix the different types of pasta too! Then, in a separate pot, do seasoning with oil, mustard, asafoetida and channa dal, add cashew if you would like to dress it up, after dal and cashew are brownded, add 1 cup chopped onions, 2 sliced green chillies, chopped ginger one teaspoon and stir continuously over medium heat. When the onions are well cooked, add salt, add frozen vegs (or fresh cut beans, peas, cauliflower etc) optionally and cook until tender, and toss the pasta in. stir well, adjust salt, top with curry leaves and chopped cilantro and serve!!! Goes well with south indian coconut or tomato chutneys.

Hello VV,
Thanks to u for the pasta recipe. Some day, will definitely give a try.
In fact, this is a good idea. Instead of taking plain macaroni and cheese, adding veg., to it, sounds good.

Hi,
After trying to cook pasta in diff methods i have settled for this method. Cook pasta as per the instructions. Heat oil in a separate pan, add tomato paste and ginger garlic paste and cook well, add vegetables like carrot, peas, capsicum and beans( cut very finely) cook well, add green chilli paste or red chilli paste or chilli pd, little soy sauce, little salt, once the vegetables are done add the boiled pasta with little water, mix well. add more tomato paste if u want it little gravy kind.
If u dont want to add vegetables just make it plain tomato pasta, or add cooked chicken pieces or shrimp to it.
very easy to do too.

Thanks Kz for your pasta recipe. Since I am a pure veg., maybe I could adopt the first one.
