Urad Dal Chutney
Fry a tspoon of urud dal in a kadai with little oil till dal turns slightly red. Then fry 3 - 4 red chilles.
Grind together the fried dal, red chilles and a handful of fresh coconut, a little tamrind / tamrind juice, desired amount of salt and a few curry leaves.

Pudina Chutney
Pudina Leaves A Bunch (Washed,stemed & dried)
Garlic 3 - 4 Flakes
Green Chilles 4 - 5 Nos
Fresh Scrapped Coconut A handful
Tamrind A lemon sized
Salt As desired
In a kadai fry together garlic flakes and green chilles (don't forget to make slits on chilles or it will splutter)in oil till the garlic turns brown. Off the stove and add the Pudina Leaves (should not be any water), Coconut, Tamarind, Salt and mix together when the kadai still hot. Let it cool down, grind all the ingredients in a mixe.
Tastes good with Chapathi, Rice, Dosas and Idlis.

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to get ride off the bad gas?
What might be the reason for it?
Is this due to pluses or any particular vegetables or rice?
Please tell me a solution for it, I'm suffering a lot mostly in public places like office.

Hello PP,
Bad gas is due to two reasons,Firstly , if you are taking a lot of proteins, it takes time to digest and some animal proteins smell bad .Second reason is bacterial flora in the stomach. Some bacteria, which if they are more than the usualally needed, release more of the gas when carbohydrates are broken down into digestible sugars.
I would suggest you to first consult your doctor and take a course of medicine to destroy excess bacterial flora.Second is , avoide taking meats, nuts and other Dhall preparations at night.
