Heavy greased or filthy pots like cooker or tava or anything that we used to cook rice and other things will be completely clean only if we wash by hands. Dishwasher is only good for washing all types of serving plates, glasses, plastic storage boxes, spoons, knives, etc. Thats my experience. I don't know how others do!!!

Dear Mini,
You are completely correct: pots and tavas, skillets and cookers need a good scrub with something rough (but not too rough if nonstick) and detergent. However, I have found that glasses washed in the dishwasher will eventually get cloudy and etched. I prefer to wash them by hand as well.

Oh really? I use to wash my glasses and glass bowls in dishwasher. Thank you for letting me know that it is not good for them.

Hi, Try using Jet-Dry. Dishwasher detergents clean in the wash cycle, but spot and film deposits actually form in your dishwasher’s rinse cycle, which can leave your dishes and glasses looking dull and cloudy!

For cookers, pots/pans, tawa, skillets etc try using Cascade Complete dishwasher cleaner. They are come out freaky clean from the dishwasher.

Well, one of the commonest reason is, blocked holes in the spray arm ( the flat bar below lower rack). Small pieced of hard food, small pieces of plastic and stickers if not removed, do not get completely ground in the d/w grinder and re-circulate. Then, these small pieces clogg up the spray arm holes and water does not circulate forcefuly.
If you are apt with simple tools, you can take out the arm and clean out the holes. Otherwise will have to pay for the service-call.
Second reason could be, the water heating coil (Black, metal tube near bottom) is not working. Hot water from water heater is not hot enough for dish washer.
