Hallo Hemant,
Could you pl. tell me the receipe of Kara Chattney, we can get in road-side idly shops in India, i tried so many times, so many method it came out good but i didn't get the road-side shops taste. Thank you

Kara chutney
Ingredients:
a peanut size asafotida
one tablespoon bengal gram dhal
one tablespoon urud dhal
8 nos. red chillies
one big onion
one big tomato
salt to taste
tamrind to taste
method:
In a kadai put two tablespoon oil. Fry asafotida,bengal gram dhal,urdu dhal, red chillies,separately.Put the onion and tomato cut into big pieces and just fry in a teaspoon of oil. Add tamrind and salt to it and grind all the above to a coarse or fine paste as you like.
This is my sis-in-laws recipe,try it
