can anyone give me thattai murukku recipe.
Plzz do give ingredients in cup measurements....

Hi Jill,
Here is a very tasty and easy recipe by Mallika Badrinath. Enjoy.
CRISP THATTAI MURUKKU:
Processed rice flour-4 cups, Roasted urad flour- 4 heaped tsps, White butter- 100gms, Salt- 5tsp, Bengal gram dhal (kadalai paruppu)- 3 level tsp, Thuar dal- 3 level tsp, Asafoetida- a pinch, Oil for deep frying.
Soak dals in water for half an hour. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add soft, fresh butter
and blend well using finger tips so that it mixes evenly with the flour. Add soaked dhals and mix well. Divide flour into 4 or 5 parts. Sprinkle water to one portion & mix to make a thick dough, (DO NOT KNEAD). Prepare lemon sized ba-lls and pat it on top of a polythene sheet or wet cloth like a thin chapathi. Deep fry in hot oil a few at a time till crisp and golden brown colour. After frying keep on top of absorbent paper till it attains room temperature. Store in a dry, air-tight container.
