no sweet has less fat. so dont be over enthusiastic. more over if you take a jalebi/laddu/any other sweet you have to walk atleast 3 kms to burn it. so dont take risk and so dont suffer.

Hi Ambika,
Eventhough to a certain extent what Sri has posted is true, it is possible to make sweets low fat, but not fat-free. Try making those sweets which call for condensed milk and use fat free condensed milk. Instead of butter, use crisco butter flavor shortening. Instead of paneer, use fat free ricotta. Avoid sweets which have coconut as one of the ingredients.
It is true that if you eat sweets, you have to work out more to burn those calories, but life is to live the way you wish to. Within limits ofcourse. So, eating one piece of a sweet maybe thrice a week is not harmful at all. This is my opinion, not to contradict anyone's opinion.
Bye,
CI

i eat a sweet or two everyday... but i am active.. life is juz too short to keep worrying abt all dis... thus i believe one shouldn keep worryin of wat he/ she has or hasn eaten.. instead.. one should enjoy and at the same time..work out a lil everyday...its obvious dat if one juz keeps eatin the wrong things n sits in front of the tv box for hrs.. he/she is gonna put on... so maybe move arnd.. shake ur body a lil.. or walk(which is said to be the best form of excercise by specialists) and enjoy a jalebi.. chocolate.. ice cream(my no.1 fav!) or maybe even some halwa everyday! also.. its not wat u eat... its how much u eat and wat u do abt it dat counts! cheers ppl!
ps... its gd to note the calorie of each sweet... in dat way.. ull noe how much ur takin in per sweet!well for ppl who find it difficlut to stop once they start wif it... this may help!:)

to ans ur ques... nowadays they haf sweets which are sugar free and haf a similar taste compared to the original one.... u may wanna try those sweets... if u live in india... then nathu's and haldiram's are both famous for keeping sugar free sweets... also compared to ras malai... ras gulla is a better alternative... pedes are lower in fat... unlike gajjar ka halwa or any other kind of halwa... for kheer... instead of using full cream milk.. u could use skim milk which reduces the fat to half.. in dat way... u can enjoy kheer in a low fat n "light" way... for chocolates... there are sugar free ones in the market currently too... they taste great... try not to use ghee when makin ur sweets... use a lighter version of oil.. the real "swad" may not be there... but the taste isn bad at all too... from all sweets... ice cream has one of the lowest fat.. esp vanilla n strawberry or fruity flavours... of course if its bought from poshe places like haagen dazs or ben n jerrys, the fat content increases due to the addition of cream.. for cakes.. avoid carrot cake... it is heavily buttered.. thus very fattening for the over conscious ppl... enjoy life.. actually havin a carrot cake once in a while.. isn bad at all.. have everythin.. but in moderation.. cheers ppl!

Some low-fat sweets can be made with Jaggery. Jaggery also has fewer calories than sugar. But by removing the fat-content, it won't taste like the original, but you still get the fulfillment of eating sweets.
I am giving you an overview of the recipe, pls adjust the quantities of ingredients according to your requirements. I cook by trial and error very often, so I am not 100% sure of the measurements. :(
Moon dal payasam:
To a cup of moong dal, add a cup of water, and cook in presssure cooker until it is 3/4 th done.
Take it out of the pressure cooker, add about 150 gms of jaggery, (grated or full ) , add some more water and let it cook until all the jaggery is uniformly dissolved. Now add cardomoms, raisins. After a minute, switch off the stove. It is done. (Optionally, you can add half a cup of coconut milk or finely ground coconut paste or cow's milk and let it boil for a minute or two. But that will add some fat content to the finished dish.)
Kachayam:
Soak wheat grains overnight. Drain the water, add jaggery to it and grind it to smooth paste. Heat oil in a pan, make balls of the ground paste and deep-fry them. After it turns golden to dark brown, remove from the oil and put them on a tissue paper. The tissues will drain the excess oil.
