  I would recommend u to buy books in India and get it thru someone.
  I burnt my hands once ordering a bharadhidhasan book online in vanavil.com

  I am in Sydney. We have purchased lot of books (1200 in total) for our Tamil Library in Sydney from Kaanthalakam (www.tamilnool.com). All these purchases were done via Internet (email). The service was excellent and price was very good. You pay the retail price + postage. We got all the books by sea mail. Of course it would be expensive if you were buying a few books, because the postal rate changes in blocks.
