When plates collide: Code of Sarasvati hieroglyphs is cracked

When the Indian plate collides with the Eurasian plate, earthquake occurs. It is a recurrent event, in a cycle of 250 years. The earthquake in Bhuj on 26 January 2001 is one such event, measured as 8.2 on the Richter scale. This is an energy equivalent of simultaneous explosion of 220 hydrogen bombs!

When plate tectonics occur in study of languages, people will have just a jolt that they will lose confidence in the integrity of so-called scholars who have so far indulged in casuistry in understanding India's ancient chronology.

The plate tectonics in linguistics has just occurred. The code of Sarasvati hieroglyphs has been summarily and conclusively cracked, thus rendering the false claims made by many indologists so far as merely, myths. These scholars who talk derisively about myths are themselves responsible for creating myths such as Indian language families and 'aryans' as an appellation of people while in fact, it just connotes a character trait of simply being a person of good character.

While those interested in unravelling the cracking of the code may like to peruse an 80-page treatise at http://www.hindunet.org/saraswati/sarasvatihieroglyphs1 here is a brief summary of what it is all about.

'Sarasvati hieroglyphs' is the name given to the structure, form and function of a writing system often called 'Indus script' or 'Harappan script'. Kalyanaraman has put together a comprehensive compendium of over 5000 epigraphs of what he calls 'Sarasvati Civilization' and will be made available to serious research students. He calls it 'Sarasvati civilization' because out of 2,600 archaeological sites of the so-called 'Harappan civilization', as many as over 80% of the sites are on Sarasvati Basin and along the coastline of Gujarat. He has also proved, through his 7 books on Sarasvati (published in 2003) that the roots of Bharatiya civilization are to be found on Sarasvati Basin and along the coastline of Gujarat. Since the cultural traits which emerged circa 5000 years Before Present (BP) are present in Bharat, he claims that it is appropriate to call the Harappan as Sarasvati civilization and seek the reconstruction of the language of the people 5000 years BP using the languages of Bharat.

For the 25+ ancient languages of Bharat, he has constructed a comparative dictionary organized in over 8000 semantic clusters. It is called the Indian Lexicon available at the website with over 30,000 files: http://www.hindunet.org/saraswati Using this lexicon he has been able to provide a simple code to crack the writing system used on Sarasvati epigraphs. The code is rebus, the language is mleccha. Yes, the same language mleccha which was spoken by two famous bharatiya-s: Vidura and Yudhishthira (in the Mahabharata).

Va_k, parole (Spoken idiom)

It is time to start naming the archaeological and scientific discoveries on Sarasvati River basin using the cognate terms from the languages and traditions of Bharat – the parole or the local idiom in villages of the river basin --, apart from using English words such as: pots, plates, weapons, reservoirs, conch-shells, tin, zinc, copper, bronze and minerals. This is one small step to cracking the code of the pura_n.a lipi, not unlike understanding the ancient, pura_n.a-coins of janapada-s. Let us call the language mleccha, not unlike Nahali < Nagari. The next small step is to relate the lipi to the mudra-s (punches) on cast and punch-marked na_n.aya-s (coins). In Bharatiya tradition, a mudra can also be represented in dance forms apart from written forms of __expression. Mudra is merely a vikalpa, a representation of reality, just as mlecchita vikalpa is a representation in writing of the va_k (parole).

Indus? Sindhu!

Indus Script? Mlecchita vikalpa! This is one of the 64 arts listed by Vatsyayana.

What is often referred to as `Indus Script' found on over 4000 inscribed objects (available in museums all over the world), has been an enigma. A comprehensive compendium of objects with Sarasvati epigraphs has been compiled together with texts. The consensus among scholars is that the `script' has not been deciphered so far despite over 100 claims made that the script relates to Sanskrit or Tamil or even Sumerian language. This situation is caused by the absence of a ‘Rosetta Stone’ to convincingly establish the validity of any decipherment claim.

The question is a classic problem in cryptography.

It has been posited that even without a Rosetta stone, the reading of mlecchita vikalpa [cipher or picture writing; lit. ‘alternative representation by copper workers (mleccha)] becomes self-evident because many of the hieroglyphs used on the epigraphs can be interpreted rebus using lexemes of dialects of many languages from Bharat. These lexemes relate to the tools-of-trade of a brazier or metallurgist: minerals, metals, smelting and melting furnaces, other artifacts produced by braziers and lapidaries, metallic tools and weapons. An encyclopaedic work on Sarasvati has been compiled, comprising 7 books (Dr. S. Kalyanaraman, 2003, Sarasvati: Civilization, Sarasvati: R.gveda, Sarasvati: River, Sarasvati: Bharati, Sarasvati: Technology, Sarasvati: Language, Sarasvati: Epigraphs, Bangalore, Babasaheb (Umakanta Keshav) Apte Smarak Samiti). The work establishes the roots of Bharatiya civilization on the banks of River Sarasvati. The civilization is described with ample evidence as a maritime, riverine civilization.
