We pay frequent visits ot the temple in search of God. We 'worship' god with mantras and bhajanas other forms of prayers. How many of us actually know what the meaning behind the mantras are???

I asked the temples' brahmans this questions on many occassions and on what the religion is about and in many different areas. Where ever the place, they give me two types of answers:
1. The first is just do it - its good for you. Don't ask such silly questions. You're not supposed to know. It's all in the hands of God.
2. The second is we dont know. If you want to pray, then pray. If you want to upset god, then upset him, and face the consequences.

What sense does this make??

Can anyone else tell me what the religion is about?? Without making reference to rubbish stories in the Mahabharatha. Hinsuism is the only religion without a firm set of beliefs, without a sacred religious text like the koran or bible, and without any real principles (all the caste system is bbuullllsshhiitt so don't talk about that - its just a way for the brahmins to get their daily donations and power at the same time).

Hinduism is the world's oldest religion, and so should have the greatest wisdom and most refined and organised principles of any religion. We don't see any of that. The brahmins dont do their duty in preaching it to us, and they dont what the hell they blab on about. We don't have any true priests or sheikhs or the sort - just an arrogant overbelched loser who sits in the temple hiding his face inside his mustache, waiting for a donation.

Although I show great feeling and interest for Hinduism, I feel more like an atheist. How many other people are in the same boat as me?

  As per archaelogical research all the Iyers and Brahmins are Aryans who moved to south and bought along Shaivism. The concept of Ganesha, vishnu , shiva was bought by these Brahmins who rechristined
  renamed all the gods of south including Jain gods by calling them various avatars. You will not find such avatars in North India Hindu temples. By the way I am still confused if somskanda, parthasarthy, vardharaj, sundareswara are still gods? which are hardly knowN in rest of Hindu world except south India. They are all known as avatars of shiva, vishnu etc in south which is mischief of this iyers who grabbed all the temples of south from Dravids. That is the reason in this part of country devotees are not allowed to have close contact with the god and one has to do darshan from distance. Apart from this factor most of the faces of god are mutilated with covering the mouth, eyes, forehead with Namam, big dot, big mukkadai, a big ribbon on eyes , 95% of god's idol is covered with jewels, cloth, flowers etc, where as it is not done in same kind of Hindu temples in North.
  
  These the place where the Iyers are fooling Dravidians as well as the rest of world with wrong fabricated history.

  I want to know why in Tamilnadu Hindu temples devotees are not allowed to have close darshan of God?
  Why most of the Gods are avatars?
  
  Why most of the God's faces are mutilated , covered with big dot, namam, mukkudai, ribbon on eyes apart from huge jewellary, clothers , flowers. Hardly 3% of the idol is visible to their devotees when they have 100% bhakti. Why is that?
  In similar way in north india same real gods(not avatars) can be worshipped from close.
  I am sure this is done by Iyers who are Aryans and bought along their concept to Tamilnadu and grabbed all the Dravidian temples which were mostly samanar temples belonging to Nainars.
  For more details check with Archaeological dept of tamilnadu. and they have confessed the truth , though the real history is suppressed after the bhakti movement till now.

  Most of the old tamilnadu temples are not real hindu temples. they are dravid local deity temples, budha temple, samanar temples which were grabbed by iyers and avatarified.

  HINDUISM - Progressed from unknown time to present. It has been grown like one tree but many branches. Birds (Hindus)are sitting on top of every branches,day and night cring out their branches are strongest than others.
  
  Hinduism needs spiritual revial in the ever-changing of mankind.
  If we carefully LOOK at the Histroy of India, one can feel that religion is a motivation force behind the india.

  Okee dokie... lets begin by saying that hinduism isnt a proper religion. Not for southies anyway. what kind of a practise is it to worship idols made from the soil, who hold weapons that supposedly killed the dravidian ancestors?
  Me and a lot of my friends have followed this religion for a while only because we were born into it. 90% of them admit that the religion is just bullcrap, and people look like mad idiots when they pray a brahmins feet.
  Brahmins in the temple say the more money u put in for god, the more he will be happy. If god is the greatest being, and can produce an eyeball which not even a billion dollars can produce, why would god beg for $1? that money u put into the hundi goes to feed the brahmans fat lazy asses.

  Indians should come up with a modern religion/practice that actually makes sense and works out for both theists and atheists..e.g yoga, meditation etc. lol...we can even incorporate the laughing group's practice.
  Whatever it is, anything is better than mindlessly worshipping clay, and watching losers rotating flame or brahmins begging others to beg them.
  I think its time that indians wake up to themselves and realise that its brahmins who introduced this class/status (this does not only refer to caste) that is embedded into indians, breaking up any possible unity amongst us. e.g. the moment an indian sees another indian, its time to lie to avoid competition, or time to show who's more superior, fairer etc.
