I think it's the best tamil film i have seen in the past five years.Rajeev menon superbly handles the characters and brings out the difference in the attitudes between the two sisters with effective narration and screenplay.Ravi K chandran's cinematography is of top calibre.A R rahman is the film's hero.Finger rapping music is the film's back bone.Of all the actors,mammooty is brilliant.No wonder,even with english sub titles ,it ran to packed houses in both mumbai and delhi.Tamil films need more films like KK and directors like rajeev menon.Hats off to him!

  Your taste is different. The film bombed at box office. Also teh characters of Aiswaryaray and Appas were nothing but naive and comic showing director and writer's lack of experience. Ajith comes and disppears for ever.

  a clever and native adaptation of "sense and sensibility" - the novle by jane austen, this movie was indeed different as it did not have any masala ingredients and all the charactersations were strong and clearly etched!!

  I felt, when the captain's role was moulded for Kandukonden, the character lost its power which it carried in sense and sensibility. In KK, the captin had self pity and was arrogant(when he drinks and makes a scene in that function). And he looked a bit immature when he opens up his love in public(the way he told this to his servant was a bit kiddish for his image). In S&S, the captain's crush for the much younger girl was handled carefully that he still looked more matured and stronger. Mammooty is undoubtedly the well suited one for the role, but did'nt make use of him properly.
  The female characters were replanted more cleverly . I felt Aiswarya & Thabu well synchronised with Kate & Emma.

  I agree entirely with Lakshmi - Mammooty's character was disappointing - I also felt it was too similar to the character he played in Udhyanapalakan -hate to see such a good actor getting into repetitive roles.

  i too agree, I did not like mamooty's role in kk. Aishwarya looked too young to act with mamooty, their love story is exactly like Mammoty's and Kaveris in udyanapalakan.

  Jo, in the original Jane Austen novel, the characters on which Aish and Mamooty are based have a substantial age difference so that is in keeping with original story line. But they unnecessarily introduced the orchid farm and Mamooty's limp and military background and made it similar to Udhyanapalakan.

  Tamil film industry needs many directors like Rajiv menon who is making movies without sex &violence.I understood the real meaning of the word 'love'only after watching this movie.The movie has established the fact that love is not
  infatuation but,it is the kindness and concern one shows for the another. But the movie reminds me of Bharathiraja's 16 vayathiniley.

  It was an excellent movie...
  Mammooty's performance was simply cool.. I the last scene when Aishwarya Rai shows her love to Mammooty, tht scene Mammooty's acting was simply superb..One of the cool film and great performance ever seen..
