The Style of Mahender Kapoor is followed by Salander Singh and later By Udit Narayan.
Salander Singh and Udit Naryan have very similar style and voice. First time when I listen Papa Kehte he .., I thought that this song was sung by Sailender till 1994, when Udit came in my notice and I was told that song was sung by Udit too.
Then why, Udit got more popularity than Salander Singh??
Or Sailander had to face the legends like Rafi, Kisore, Mukesh, Mahender etc.., and Udit got the luck not being in that ERA..........

  Yes Papa Kehta he is sung by Udit too. Udit was always overshadowed by his Guru Mahender Kapoor in the 80's and Sanu Kumar in 90's and so was less popular. Salender was very unlucky as he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
