How do u rate these two singers?? Is Jyolsana a new singer? I really liked her voice in Manassinakkare (melleyonnu) song. Rimi is the one sang Chinga masam. Are they singing in any other films? If there any music lovers please join this discussion.

Rimi has sung a few other songs too, like the Kannanaayaal Radha venam song in Pattanathil Sundaran, and Daivam thanna.. from Snehithan. She does sing great, but I hate her VJing the show on Asianet Gulf.
Jyolsna is way ahead, in that shes damn selective in the kind of songs that she sings. After Karuppinazhaku, loo at the way she has bowled over music lovers with the Melle Onnu song..!!

Jyolsana is really superb....
I love her voice in karuppinazhaku....
But the best song of her is "Poovalla Poovaalla" from Vajram....It is really cuuuute.... And her voice suits very much for peppy songs

WC i saw that asianet gulf arabian thriller. I thought RIMI was excellent. She was energetic, always had a smile on her face all the time. I always when stage program kaanumbo songs fast forward cheyyum. Ithente first time aayirikkanam motham keettirunnathu when she sang.
Jyolsanayude sound superb aanu. Njan othiri paattuk keekkana team alla pakshe MELLE ONNU songil jyolsanayude sound valare nannayirunnu.
I didn't like the song karuppinazhaku though.

V :) U know ur sentiments abt Rimi are shared by quite a lot of guys here. They watch the Asianet Gulf Phone-in program, just for her. And u r right when u say that she comes across as one positive character, with the trademark Rimi smile.
She sang the Dingiri Pattaalam song in the Thriller Express, if I remember right. And regarding her skills, theres no question of a debate. Shes quite good!
But somehow I find the way she talks quite irritating. Too much of an extrovert for guys like me....LOL! :)

I don't know what is great in Jyotsna's voice and singing. If you hear all her songs by a head phone you can feel the difference. Say for instance, hear the hit song " Gujarathi Kaalthala" from the movie "Pulivaal Kalyanam" She is nothing in Music world. Most of these posting are by kids, thats why they make comments like these. Its the same with Rimi too. They have a long....... very long way to go, but I don't think that any of them can make. For these you need gods blessing and dedication, but most of the new generation singers lack this.
You will forget all of the new generation singers songs in a short time, but the songs sung by Chithra, S. Janaki and Sujatha will be still there always!
